Career change, better work-life balance, more time with loved ones...

More and more seafarers feel the call for something different — but that call often comes with questions:

👉 What would I do instead? Do I really have what it takes? Will I lose the stability I’ve worked so hard for?

For some, it's the fear of running out of money.

For others, it's simply not knowing what their next step should be — or not being able to see their own natural strengths.

But what if, instead of staying stuck in the fog, you took a moment to understand how you are truly wired?

Human Design: A Compass to Know Yourself Better

Human Design is a powerful system, calculated from your birth date, time, and place, that offers a unique map of your energetic functioning.

It illuminates:

  • How you make decisions

  • What influences you unconsciously

  • Your natural talents

  • Patterns that may limit you

As a sailor and mentor, I use it daily — both for guiding others and in my own life choices. Today, with my husband (My Yacht Captain for 14 years !!!), we are deeply reflecting: " when should we leave for our family world tour?" Our Human Design map gives us more clarity and serenity in this process...

Here are 3 key elements of your Human Design to explore if you're in a transition phase

1. The G Center – Identity & Direction

The G Center is your inner compass, guiding your life direction.

  • Defined: You have a stable identity and a clear direction. Career change decisions are made with easier coherence and grounding.

  • Undefined: You are more easily influenced by the environment and others. This can create confusion, doubt, or lack of clarity about what YOU truly want.

A sailor with an undefined G Center may constantly question their career change decision, as they are overly influenced by external expectations.

 2. The Solar Plexus – Emotional Center

This center governs your feelings and emotional timing.

  • Defined: You experience emotional waves. You need time to decide clearly. Never act in the heat of the moment.

  • Undefined: You absorb and amplify others' emotions. You are highly permeable, which can cloud your judgment.

In a professional doubt phase, a defined Solar Plexus will need to let the emotional wave pass. An undefined Solar Plexus must learn to discern between their own feelings and others'.

3. The Channels – Your Natural Gifts & Talents

Channels connect the centers in your map. They reveal your innate potential and natural abilities.

Examples:

  • Channel 34-20: Instant action, efficiency, power in the moment.

  • Channel 43-23: Innovative thinking, ability to bring unique ideas to light.

  • Channel 59-6: Deep connections with others, emotional intelligence.

🎯 Using your channels means understanding what can propel you into a new professional venture.
